We move pianos in Altadena and Pasadena areas almost every day, due to the fact that many households in this area value classical music instruments. Please keep in mind, that we do have a surcharge for piano moving when they come as part of the general move, and have a separate pricing grid for stand-alone piano moving.
How do we move Pianos?
Similarly to the any other move, piano moving begins with quote and a reservation. During the quote interview we would like to find out several details, such as size and weight of the piano, layout of the stairs if any, and the adequacy of walking path to the truck (lawn vs. pavement). Upon reservation we will send piano movers of Fusion Moving Company to transport your musical instrument. They will bring all necessary tools and equipment to ensure that the piano moving is performed efficiently and safely. For upright pianos transported on the flat surface we send 2 movers, and for grand pianos we require a minimum of 3 movers. Upright pianos are simply placed on the piano skid board and then transported on the four wheeled dolly. The grand pianos require partial disassembly and turning on its side. After it has been turned it is also placed on the skid board and transported to the truck. Please be aware, that piano moving requires advanced knowledge and special techniques, and therefore don’t trust your musical instruments to amateur moving companies or attempt to do it yourself.

* Piano moving rates include up 3 hours of moving, and a total of 50 miles travelling from our warehouse to pick-up, to drop-off and back to our warehouse.
